I grew up the son of a Southern Baptist Music Minister and my Father served Churches across West and Central Texas as I was growing up. I went to high school in Brownwood Texas, college at West Texas A&M and Seminary at Southwestern BTS in Ft. Worth. I worked in radio, marketing and advertising in DFW for several years before I was called to preach. I'm excited about being the pastor at Acton Baptist and look forward to what God is going to do here in His Church.

David and Kathy joined the ABC family in January of 2022 after spending 27 years in ministry to youth and children. They have three fantastic children, Emily, Hope, and Nate. David oversees the adult discipleship and is passionate to see families grow together in Christ. In 1996, David graduated from the University of Texas Permian Basin with a Bachelors in Humanities, certified to teach secondary education in English, Social Studies, and History. In 2004, he earned a Masters of Arts in Christian Education with a concentration in Youth Ministry from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Ft. Worth. David has recently returned to retool and is enrolled in the Masters of Divinity  program at SWBTS. 

Josh and Kay Comer joined Acton Baptist in March of 2022, previously serving in churches in Texas and Arkansas since 2010. They have one child, Kaylyn, who has been their unofficial youth group mascot since 2014. Josh is a discipleship-focused leader who strives to not only train up teenagers, but assist their parents in the discipleship process of their kids. Josh is a graduate of Southwest Baptist University (‘09) with a Bachelors in Christian   Ministry and of Luther Rice Seminary (‘17) with a Masters of Divinity.

I was blessed to be raised in a Christian home attending the same church in Fort Worth until going off to college. I accepted Christ when I was 10 years old and surrendered into full time Christian service my senior year in high school. God has called me to serve and disciple children and their families. Leading these young families is a privilege and I take my calling very seriously. I believe God has given each person special talents and abilities to serve Him. I enjoy watching children grow in the Lord and becoming everything He has designed them to be. Encouraging parents to become the spiritual champion at home is my passion. I have faithfully served in Children’s Ministry since 1995 at North Richland Hills Baptist Church, First Baptist Church Pflugerville, and Travis Avenue Baptist Church. I earned a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration from the University of North Texas (1991) and a Masters Degree in Religious Education, Childhood Concentration, from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary (1998). I married my beautiful bride, Pam, in 1991. We were blessed with two daughters; Rebekah and Lauren.
